| Monster Energy Ultimate Rockies Rock Band (2nd Annual) |
| Get ready for "Rockstar" treatment at Fernie Alpine Resort with musical festivities & lots of fun for everyone. Rock it out in the “Front Row” Plaza and on the “Backstage” Deck listening to music and enjoying fun rocker antics all day and night. Come enjoy a live DJ, DJ Maccabi, spinning live tunes in the plaza from 1pm to 4pm. And in traditional rock star style, the party will continue in the famous Griz Bar where the Monster Energy Ultimate Rockies' Rock Band contest will take place at 4pm in between live music sets from the Surf Dragons!!
Take the challenge and bring your Rock Band team and battle it out for the Monster Energy Rock Band title! Win great prizes and have a rockin' time at Fernie's Ultimate Rockies' Rock Band event.
Entry into the Monster Energy Rock Band event is FREE. Register at Guest Services or up in the Griz Bar that afternoon. Please note because the event takes place up in the Griz Bar all contestants must be 19 years of age or older.

| Raging Elk Dummy Downhill Competition |
| A highlight of Fernie’s winter Griz Days festival, the Dummy Downhill will enter into it’s 27th year! Strictly for fun, this competition features imaginative & hilarious “dummies” on skis launching themselves off a gigantic jump beside the Timber Chair. Dummies can be made from a variety of materials and creativity is stressed! Dummies are judged based on their construction, creativity, distance they fly off the jump and the carnage factor when they land!! Spectators and families LOVE this event and it is one not to miss!!
Entry Fees:
Early Registration (before March 4): $20+gst per Dummy
Late Registration (on/after March 5): $30+gst per Dummy

Schedule
11:45am: Registration Closes
12:00pm: Dummy Check In & Weigh In @ Bottom of the jump (beside the Timber Chair)
1:00pm Dummy Downhill Start
4:00pm Awards @ Daylodge
Rules:
1. No living cells allowed in race
2. No remote controls or human contact with dummy allowed during the race.
3. Dimensions - Not higher than 6ft, lower than 3ft or wider than 3ft at the base. Volume-weight up to 100lbs. All dummies must PASS WEIGH-IN.
4. Only skis or snowboards allowed to mount dummies on
5. Dummy names must be suitable for publication
6.Owners are responsible for retreiving all dummy parts after the race. One team member at the top of the course and one member at the bottom of the course to collect dummy parts.
7. Gravel or dirt may NOT be used to weigh down your dummy.
8. No fire.
Remember - Fun & Safety. Event organizers reserve the right to disqualify dummies that are deemed unsafe.

| A weekend of fun celebrating the mountain!! There are specials and activities taking place all weekend including the Powder 8's on Saturday and live music in the Griz Bar from Rick Voisey.
To celebrate the mountain and all it has to offer we are offering a special on our First Tracks program all week from March 13-19th! Experience the life of a rockstar, Fernie style and hit the slopes early before anyone else!! Log some serious vertical on your own private playground. Private groups of up to 3 people are only $183+gst (regular price = $269+gst). Ages 10 and up (ages 10-16 must be accompanied by an adult). Must be booked by 5:00pm the previous day!!
Coming to Fernie for the first time or want to check out new terrain? How about booking one of our Guided Mountain Tours! Our Mountain Tour Guides provide an introductory tour around the mountain helping familiarize guests with the unique terrain of Fernie Alpine Resort. Mountain Tours are approx. 1.5hrs and leave at 10:30am and 1:30pm. Cost is only $9.95 per person* but all registered guests receive a $10 RCR Gift Card so it's basically free!! To register for a mountain tour please go to the Winter Sports School Desk located in the Guest Services Office. (*Please note: lift tickets and rentals are NOT included in the price of the tour).

| Powder 8 Championships |
| Skier's pair up to make perfect figure 8's in untracked POWDER snow. Competitors will be judged on their skiing synchronization, distance spacing and style as well as their track roundness, symmetry and fall line. The event is open to competitors 19 years of age and older.
Registration is $50+gst per team of 2. On the event day registration goes up to $60+gst per team of 2.
Tentative Event Schedule (note subject to change):
7:30am - 8:30am: Bib Pickup, Check in and late registration @ Daylodge
8:30am: Mandatory Competitors Meeting @ Daylodge
9:00am: Load Designated Chair
10:00am - 1:00pm: Qualifying Run (venue TBD)
2:00pm: Finals (venue TBD)
4:30pm: Awards @ Daylodge followed by apres up in the Griz Bar
All competitors must have a valid lift ticket or season pass. Discounted tickets will be available at registration for competitors needing them.
Note: Venue is still being determined and will be decided on closer to the event (as it is dependant on conditions). It is recommended that competitors bring their transcievers with them (if you have one) to the event in the case that an above area venue is used. |
