Welcome to the Fernie Alpine Resort Community Summit Fund!

The Fernie Alpine Resort Community Summit Fund is dedicated to being a strong supporter of the local community by providing cash grants to a number of local causes and initiatives.

Our mandate is to enhance the community by supporting local projects that help create positive opportunities and outcomes for its citizens, especially youth.

To achieve this, we have allocated a fund that will provide $150,000 to a variety community projects and initiatives over the next 5 years (2007 to 2011).

Applications are typically reviewed on a monthly basis. It is our goal to fund a minimum of twelve projects per year, again and to fund causes that will create the largest positive benefit to the community while supporting a wide variety of causes.

Who have we supported so far?

Between April 2007 and February 2008, the Fernie Alpine Resort Community Summit Fund has provided $20,250 in cash, as well as in-kind donations to 17 community organizations and projects:

A Taste of Fernie (Fernie and District Arts Council and Rotary Club of Fernie)
Arts and Letters Picnic and Promenade (Fernie Heritage Library and Fernie and District Arts Council)

Fernie Interpretive Centre (Fernie Chamber of Commerce) (3-year commitment)
Fernie Mountain Film Festival
Fernie Nordic Society
Fernie Rotary Club and the Fernie Food Bank

Ghostrider Adventure Camp
Isabella Dicken Elementary School – New Playground (3-year commitment)
