Lost Boys Pass Tour
Difficulty: Easy
Duration: Half day
Description:
During the tour you will pass alpine meadows with a variety of alpine wildflowers, lichens & signs of wildlife that live at this elevation. You will also see a number of rocky outcrops where the exposed limestone contains fossils of sea creatures that lived here over 200 million years ago.
Old Growth Cedar Tour
Difficulty: Easy to Moderate
Duration: Half day

Description:
This tour traverses the mountain to end up in an Old Growth Forest of Western Red Cedar. The terrain is all relatively downhill terrain and will pass some spectacular views.
Griz Face
Difficulty: Moderate - uneven & ruged terrain
Duration: Full day

Description:
This hike is an ascent of Lizard Bowl. The spectacular vistas of the Elk Valley will be unobscured and the opportunities to view wildlife will increase as you get higher. On the trip you will pass two or three areas where the alpine wildflowers are numerous and the scree slopes will provide abundant habitat for seldom seen Pika’s, and Golden Mantled Ground Squirrels. The fossils are everywhere in the limestone as this was at one time ancient shallow seabeds. The view from the top of Facelift will fill you with a sense of the magnitude of the mountains. Bring food/snacks, water, camera and wear sturdy footwear.
Polar Peak
Difficulty: Difficult. Rocky terrain with significant elevation changes. Some scrambling is necessary.
Duration: Full Day (5-6 hours)

Description:
The destination is Polar Peak at an elevation of 7010 feet. The Trailhead will be accessed via a scenic ride on the Timber Express Chairlift. The view is spectacular as you traverse Elephant Head and on the return trip you will have the option of descending on the Timber Chair, or hiking down. Bring a lunch, water and camera, and wear sturdy footwear.

About Nature Bob
Bob, has been guiding people around the Fernie resort for 11 years now. Through winter he runs snow shoe walks and in the Summer he is the hiking guru. Bob has a great passion for the mountains and a depth of knowledge that is only achievable through years of experience. Throughout our local mountain range there is a huge variety of native flora, wildlife and fossils. Without doubt the way to learn about these subjects and walk these mountains is with Bob.
