Fernie, BC - April 8, 2009 - On Saturday March 28, The Griz Bar at Fernie Alpine Resort announced the winners of the 1st Annual Griz Bar Photo Contest sponsored by Kokanee. There was a lot of buzz about this event as everyone was interested in not only the opportunity to show off their artistic talents but also the chance to win some great prizes and showcase their work on the walls of the Griz Bar itself. The theme, of course, was Winter in Fernie or the Elk Valley and the judging was a two-fold process: first by a panel of professional photographers to select the top 3 and then by the public who voted for their favourite of the three while on display in the Griz Bar. There were 19 entries overall and all contestants should be very proud of their amazing talents. The Griz Bar is thrilled to have such great photos to hang on the walls and looks forward to seeing more of the talent next year.
