FERNIE ALPINE RESORT ANNOUNCES SUMMER COMMUNITY APPRECIATION DAY TO TAKE PLACE SUNDAY, JULY 8TH

 
Fernie, BC – June 29, 2007 – On Sunday, July 8, 2007, Fernie Alpine Resort will say ‘Thank You’ to local communities by offering a FREE single-ride lift ticket and $2 community BBQ at Lost Boys Café for the residents of Fernie, Elko, Elkford, Jaffray, Sparwood and all residents living in the Elk Valley.

Fernie Alpine Resort’s Summer Community Appreciation Day aims to thank local residents for their support of the Resort, while providing an opportunity for residents to enjoy the summer sights and views from the mountaintop Lost Boys Café.

Area residents are asked to present a driver’s license or pay stub and valid identification in order to qualify for a complimentary lift ride. The community BBQ, with the support of Cardinal Meats, will feature $2.00 RCR Prime Rib Burgers and will take place at Lost Boys Café between 11:00am and 2:30pm. The Timber Express Quad Chair and Elk Chair will be operating from 10am – 5pm that day.

For guests who would like to ride for the day, Fernie Alpine Resort is extending 50% off full day lift ticket rates for locals, as well as 25% off rentals (based on availability).

“We’re so thrilled about our summer mountain biking and hiking program at Fernie,” says Matt Mosteller, Senior Director of Business Development for the Resort. “We’d like to say thank you to the community for support of the mountain - In all seasons!”

Fernie Alpine Resort kicks of its 2007 Summer Season today, with over 40 mountain biking trails, hiking programs, summer kids programs, and more.
