Fernie Alpine Resort Utilities Corporation was structured effective January 1, 2004 for the purpose of operating and maintaining the water and sewer treatment and distribution systems at Fernie Alpine Resort. The water and sewer utilities are run on a cost recovery basis. The separate corporate status allows for the separate tracking of financial revenues and costs for utility operations and better monitoring of performance.
